I am a Christian
Environmental Evangelist!
This definition is loaded
with stereotypes, both positive and negative, but it best describes what I do –
traveling around the country preaching in churches and colleges about the
goodness of nature and our sacred duty to love, serve and protect God’s
creation.
My message is simple. “God is
a good God, God made a good earth, God calls us to be good stewards.” I use the
scriptures to encourage Bible-believing Christians to become strong and vocal
environmentalists.

Washington Wilderness Coalition Welcomes New Executive Director
 Seattle (01/08/10) — Washington Wilderness Coalition is pleased to
announce that Nalani M. Askov will be returning as its Executive
Director effective January 25, 2010. Nalani previously served on the
Board of Directors and as Executive Director for the Washington
Wilderness Coalition from 2003-2007. During this time, she lead WWC’s
efforts to pass the now designated Wild Sky Wilderness and worked on
the initial development of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Additions
proposal, which is currently moving through Congress. Nalani most
recently served as the Executive Director of the Jackson Hole Wildlife
Foundation in Jackson. WY. As Director of the Wildlife Foundation, she
worked closely with a range of public agencies including Grand Teton
National Park, Bridger Teton National Forest, Wyoming Game and Fish
Department, the USFWS - National Elk Refuge and the Wyoming Department
of Transportation to find ways to prevent human/bear conflicts, reduce
wildlife vehicle deaths, restore important wildlife habitat and
generally promote effective ways for the local community to live
compatibly with the abundant wildlife in the Greater Yellowstone
Ecosystem.
“Nalani brings depth of experience and vision to the Washington
Wilderness Coalition and we look forward to once again having her as
the Executive Director,” said Barak Gale, Board President. “WWC is
actively leading efforts to designate additional wilderness and wild
and scenic rivers in eastern King County and is playing a key role in
coalitions working on wildlands and waters protections around the
state.”
Prior to joining WWC in 2003, Nalani practiced labor and employment
law in Seattle for 15 years. She also previously served as a policy
analyst for the City of Seattle Executive Department where she
developed the City's policies on Workplace Harassment and Domestic
Partner registration. Nalani has served in a leadership capacity on the
boards of several local, state and regional boards. Nalani earned her
B.A. from the University of Washington and her law degree from the
University of Washington School of Law. She also completed coursework
in the Master's of Environmental Studies program at the Evergreen State
College.
